About CrowdSurge
CrowdSurge is a game-day operations platform for amateur and youth hockey.
It runs game-day presentation -- goal horns, music, TTS announcements, sound effects, and automated scoresheets -- from a single tablet at the scorer's table. It also runs leagues: standings management, score entry, season results, player statistics, and coordinator admin, all fed automatically from the same game-day workflow.
The platform works offline. There is no app store download. Setup takes under ten minutes before puck drop.
Who this is for
Game-day operators -- the parent, coach, or volunteer running audio for a team. One tablet, one operator, the full game-day presentation experience.
League coordinators -- the person running standings, score tracking, and game management across multiple teams and divisions. Scores recorded during the game update standings automatically. No spreadsheets, no group chat, no Sunday night data entry.
Rinks and venues -- facilities that want a consistent game-day experience across events without a dedicated production crew.
How it's built
CrowdSurge is a Progressive Web App built on Next.js, Supabase, and Howler.js. It runs on any modern iPad or Android tablet. The offline-first architecture caches all audio to the device before the game starts so the platform has no network dependency during live play.
Every design decision filters through one question: does this add operator workload? The answer is always supposed to be no.
